Our story is perhaps our greatest gift,
as each of our stories reflect HIS STORY…
Stories are filled with props. Props are connecting points for us in an ongoing narrative of redemption.
When displayed or given away, we reveal something about what we value.
What’s in your story?
— Jamie George, Journey Church Franklin, Lead Pastor
In November of 2015, my church, Journey Franklin, was looking towards the future, knowing that soon we would have to move out of our home for the last 10 years in the Factory in Franklin. One of our partners, Mark Popadic, had a brilliant idea to raise funds for our eventual move out and our search for a new place to gather: we would take some of these objects, these things that prop up our lives, that we’ve held on to for no practical reason, and in parting with them, allow them to find a new purpose in life, both as a financial boon to our church and to bring joy or usefulness to their new owner.
While Mark and others would be filming the stories surrounding the props, I stepped forward to manage the voluminous task of photographing each item so it could be posted online for sale, as well as compelling character portraits for some of the donators and their “props.”
